Ginny Dybenko, executive director at the University of Waterloo - Stratford Campus, came on AQ’s Blog & Grill to talk about the new digital media programs at the Stratford Campus and about the Stratford Accelerator Centre. UW Stratford’s Global Business and Digital Arts program explores a unique approach to the role of digital media through arts and humanities.

Its goal is to bring the human aspect back to the customer experience and humanize the way businesses use technology. The extremely popular program is the largest and fastest growing in UW’s history, and students are finding a line-up of opportunities upon graduating. Ginny wants to see artists following their passion, mixing the right amount of technology into their skill set and finding a career that keeps them in the Waterloo region.

Ginny Dybenko is the executive director of the Stratford Campus Digital Media Centre, at the University of Waterloo, and is also on several boards across the Waterloo Region, including the Perimeter Institute, SSHRC, CPA and more. With over 30 years of experience in the corporate world, Ginny was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network and was the recipient of the 2013 Governor General’s Barnraiser Award.
